a t-shirt lasts forever

My Dad bought me my lemon yellow Dodgers t-shirt when I was eight years old and we were on a summer vacation in California. That was one of my best summers ever. While in Catalina I didn’t have a bathing suit, so I just went swimming in my Dodgers tee and cut-off shorts. That t-shirt represented California, which for me meant summer and all things cool. Lemon yellow like the sun, it could freeze time taking me back to the warmth of that unforgettable summer. I saved that t-shirt in a drawer for years, wishing I could still squeeze into it.
